Determinants of women participation in income generating activities: evidence from Ethiopia

Abstract This paper aims to examine the major determinants and challenges of women's participation in income-generating activities focusing on rural women Ethiopia. To carry out this study, both primary secondary data were used. Randomly selected 161 households source for study. Secondary collected from review related literature. A binary logistic regression econometric model was implemented identify activities. The finding study revealed that area, are not allowed by their husbands participate high-income earning They considered a housewife only husband expected high due local customs. In activity is determined age, husband’s education, family size, land market distance, livestock holding, access credit. contributes literature activities, giving emphasis perspectives. It provides basis further studies aimed at hindering particularly developing countries.
